Appeals & Post-Conviction Relief

Motions for New Trial

After a conviction at trial, it may be appropriate to bring a motion for new trial.  Such a motion can be based on an irregularity that occurred at trial, ineffective assistance of counsel, or newly discovered evidence.  Some motions result in a new trial.  Sometimes we bring such a motion to present an issue that is essential for a later appeal of the conviction.
